Education

The education system in Bosnia and Herzegovina is similar to the educational system in Europe. We have 3 main levels of education: Elementary school education, High-school education and Higher-level education.

Elementary School Education

I started my education in September of 2006 at the age of six. I attended the local elementary school “Osnovna Škola Žepče” in my hometown Žepče. During this time I have attended, placed highly or won many school, local, regional and national competitions in math, physics, IT, English and German. Please check the Honors page for a comprehensive list. I finished my elementary school education in June 2015, and was awarded the “Student of the generation” award by the school committee.

High School Education

Katolički Školski Centar "Don Bosco" Žepče

Katolički Školski Centar "Don Bosco" Žepče

After successfully finishing elementary school, in September 2015 I enrolled at “Katolički Školski Centar Don Bosco” Žepče also in my hometown. As you can probably tell from the name this is a catholic school, and I enrolled as a “Mechatronics Technician”. If this sounds a bit vague, the discipline basically combines Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, and serves a great foundation for all high-schoolers who wish to pursue engineering in higher-level education. I transferred out of Don Bosco in 2017 after finishing my first two years of education with the highest possible grade point average.

In August 2017 I enrolled at United World College Mostar in the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unlike the name suggests, this is not a college, but rather an international boarding high school. As a Bosnian national, to be selected to attend UWC Mostar, one must pass a rigorous selection procedure. Here I studied alongside students from more than 50 different countries. Here is also where I earned my International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, which allowed me to apply to colleges worldwide. I graduated from UWC Mostar in May 2019 with a final IB score of 42/45, with highest possible grades in higher level math and physics.

Just as in elementary school, during my high school education, I participated, placed highly in and won many school, local, regional and national math competitions. To see a full list, please visit the Honors page.

College Education

Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Worcester Polytechnic Institute

I enrolled at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in August 2019 right after graduating from UWC. For those uninformed, WPI is a tech school with a very rigorous project oriented curriculum. I am currently pursuing a dual Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, and I will be graduating in May of 2023. My current cumulative GPA is 4.0/4.0.
